Built into the cliffs of New Victoria, Fort Petrie stands overlooking the Atlantic—a lasting tribute to the men and women who served during times of war and uncertainty. Built in 1939 and active during World War II, this coastal artillery fort played a vital role in Canada’s home-front defence.

After a bit of a climb, the site’s iconic observation tower offers panoramic views of the coastline, while its underground fortifications are typically closed to the public.
