The Dingle Tower in Halifax, officially known as the Sir Sandford Fleming Tower, was built between 1908 and 1912 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Nova Scotia’s first elected government.  The tower was a project led by Sir Sandford Fleming, a Canadian engineer best known for proposing worldwide standard time zones. Designed in an Edwardian style, it stands as a symbol of representative government in the British Empire. Today, it remains a historic landmark and public lookout point in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
